What this covers

The MIT License below applies to the source code of Mains for Mac, Mains for iPhone and the contracts package they share, as published at github.com/mainsdotdev/mains. The builds we ship — the Mac app from our releases and the iPhone app on the App Store — are made from that code, and are additionally subject to our Terms of Service and, for the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

Third-party software

Mains is built on open-source packages, each under its own license. The iPhone app ships the notices for everything it bundles in its THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt; the Mac app's dependencies and their licenses are listed in the repository. The AI providers' tools that Mains drives — Claude Code, Codex, the GitHub Copilot CLI, Cursor — are separate software under their own terms, installed by you.

Trademarks

The Mains name, wordmark and logo are not covered by the MIT License. You may build and redistribute the software under the license, but please do not present a modified build as Mains or as endorsed by us.
