Meet Atlas
0.17 introduces Atlas, a library for everything you make with your agents. Write pages together with Claude or Codex, keep the documents and images your chats produce, and find all of it again in one place.
get started with Atlas
Open Atlas from the navigation rail. It brings together the pages you write, the documents and images your conversations create, and the files you've attached to them. Narrow it down to Pages, Docs, or Images, filter by project or search, and switch between a list and a grid.
- Keep favorites close: Star the things you come back to, and find your latest pages under Recents in the sidebar.
- Nothing gone by accident: Pages and saved files you delete wait in Trash until you restore them or delete them for good.
Atlas works with Claude and Codex, and your library stays the same whichever one you're using.
pages you write with your agent
Click Start a page, finish the sentence "Create a page about…", and send it. The agent writes the page, and you can edit right alongside it: type / for headings, lists, tables, images, and more.
- Chat with the page: Every page has its own chat. Ask for a new section, a rewrite, or a tighter summary, and the agent edits the page directly. Start a new page chat at any time, or pick up an earlier one.
- Every version kept: Page history lists each version and whether you or the agent made it. Restore any of them without losing what came after.
- Make it yours: Give a page an icon and a cover. Upload an image or pick one you've already saved, then adjust how it's framed.
- Start from a template: Project brief, Research notes, Decision log, Launch checklist, and Brainstorm come with their structure in place.
- Work in tabs: Open several pages at once. Closing a tab never deletes a page.
- Bring it in, take it out: Import Markdown or JSON, export to either, or move a page into a project.
Pages reach beyond Atlas too. In Work, Claude and Codex can create and update pages from any conversation, and your other chats can read them. A link to a page opens it in Atlas, and chats that belong to a page get an Open page button in the sidebar.
keep what your chats make
Documents and images your conversations create show up in Atlas on their own, under Your creations. Files you attached are under Uploads. When something is worth keeping, choose Save to Atlas, from the library or right from the chat, to store a permanent copy that stays even if you delete the conversation.
make images
Click New image to describe what you want and let Codex create it. Start from a template such as Poster, Logo, Illustration, Headshot, Product photo, Infographic, Comic, or Book cover, and add a reference photo if you have one. Each template asks about the details that matter before it starts. Your images land in Atlas next to everything else.
Image creation uses Codex's Image Gen skill, so make sure it's enabled in Codex.
also in 0.17
- Codex memory controls: Settings → Codex now has a Conversation memory section. Turn saved memories on or off, decide whether chats that used tools or web search count, and clear everything Codex has saved on this device.
- Full Access asks first: Turning on Full Access for Codex now shows what it allows (your files, terminal commands, the internet and connected apps) and asks you to confirm.
- Comment on several lines: In Review, drag + from the first line to the last, or click a line number and Shift-click another, to leave one comment on the whole range.
- Drop files anywhere: Drop a file anywhere in a chat to attach it.
- Final answers stay in view: Mains now knows which message is an agent's final answer, so it stays visible while the commentary along the way folds away. Images in a reply open in a preview when you click them.
- A new Dock icon: Choose between Default and the new Atlas icon in Settings. Atlas follows your Mac's light or dark appearance. The other icon choices have been retired, and Mains switches back to Default if you were using one.
smaller changes
- More history up front: Chats open with your last 20 prompts instead of 10.
- Send while it works: In chats that can queue messages, the button switches to Send as soon as you type during a run, and goes back to Stop when the composer is empty.
- PR templates save right away: Importing a PR template in project settings saves it immediately.
- Last tab closes the browser: Closing the final browser tab closes the browser panel.
- Tidier Copilot models: Models no longer show up twice in Copilot's model list.
